January catch-up

I've been really pushing to get my scrapbook for 2010 finished, so I haven't updated my blog in a while... Also, we haven't had that many things going on. January is a cold, boring month for me, and I would be fine if we just skipped it altogether! One big thing that happened this month, though, was that Daphne started walking!! Both of my kids started walking at 10 months, which definitely keeps me on my toes. Daphne may have walked later, but she REALLY wanted to run after her older brother, which they both love. So here are the few random pictures that I've taken this month:

Daphne got this outfit for Christmas, and I think it is so dang cute!!

This is our first date of the "Twelve Dates of Christmas" Neil took me to the Garden restaurant in Salt Lake and we got to enjoy an evening of good food with no kids!

Here's a picture that we took from the restaurant

Daphne's hair is starting to get longer (but mostly only on the sides) so I've started experimenting. It curls naturally, so I put some gel in it to see what it would do

It turned out pretty cute!

My newest obsession is pigtails. They are teeny and stick straight out, but I think she looks adorable in them! She hates having them done, and she pulls the bows out, but they look cute for a few minutes....

Whenever I say "how big is Daphne?" she raises her arms in the air and I say "Sooo Big!"

This is after the pigtails come out

And last, but not least, here she is walking!!!

10 Months!

Daphne is 10 months old now, and learning to do so many things! She has learned to stand on her own, even though she's not incredibly stable. She is constantly taking one or two steps before she falls, so it won't be long now before she's running all over the house after her brother. She can crawl up the stairs (quite quickly!!) and I'm in the process of teaching her how to come back down. She doesn't say anything yet, but I can tell that she's starting to understand some of what I say, and she wants to be able to communicate. So far, she has eaten everything that we have given her (which includes peanut butter, milk, eggs, yeah....) and her favorite food is roast. She loves to dance and climb, but her favorite activity is unloading things, from the bookshelf to the toy box to her diapers. She absolutely LOVES the tub, and is perfectly happy in there no matter what sort of mood she was previously in. It's getting quite difficult to take pictures of her, but I think I managed to get a few :)

I love these ones

Yes, this is a typical Daphne face

"Mom, stop taking pictures and HOLD ME!!!"

Binkies make everything better

And so does being naked!

I'll bet you're jealous....

I'm having one of those moments when the moon and stars align. This is what my kitchen looks like right now:

And my bathroom:

And my kids!:

(I didn't want to raise the flash and wake her up)

Better take a good look, because it may not happen again for a millennium or so......

Look out, world!

Daphne has loved to walk from the time she could stand with help, which was at like 3 months. Last week she started standing on her own, and she's actually taken a few steps already. It won't be too much longer now and I'll have two little destroyers running around my house. The destroying process has already begun...

She loves to push this little truck around, and she's getting pretty good at it. At the end, she started walking on her own and totally surprised me!

Christmas Cont.

After we opened all of our presents at home, we headed up to the family parties. We do a lot on Christmas, and we have a lot of fun. :) These pictures are out of order, but you still get the gist of the day...

Zachary got paper and crayons from his great grandma and grandpa.

Bows are way better than paper, mom!

Carson, Bryan, and Bekah waiting for the fun to begin

Matthew trying out a cool ball on a string game

She's just so dang cute!!

Opening her present from Grandma and Grandpa

Zachary got cool Thomas trains to add to his track

And a fun playdoh dentist set, with a drill that really drills

Apparently clothes are overrated....

These pictures are from the morning at my Dad's

This is a fun swivel bike that Zachary can do all by himself (and as I discovered later, he can also take it apart all by himself)

Daphne won't go to very many people, but she sure does love her grandparents

Daphne's first doll

These boys were playing really cute together

Our best attempt at a family picture

My cousin Jackie and her husband Judd, and two of their kids

My cousin Erin with her husband Matt and daughter Madison (who is 3 months younger than Daphne, but already bigger!)

Did I mention that Zachary loves his motorcycle?
