Happenings

Here's two random pictures from today:

Yesterday we went to my Dad's for my brother's farewell. He's going to South Carolina and we're super excited! While we were there, Daphne fell and hit her cheek HARD on a char that was blocking the stairs. It bruised and swelled immediately, and was kind of scary for a minute there. She is doing much better today, but I think she'll have this bruise on her cheek for a while... :(

Zachary started preschool today!! He was sooo excited to go to school with his backpack and markers that he asked me to go as soon as he woke up this morning. I think it will be a really good experience for him, and I can already tell that I will love it. With him gone and Daphne down for a nap, I will have 4 hours a week all to myself!!!! (Hence why my blog is now being updated) Learn lots of fun things buddy!

Camping!

Neil and I took the kids camping this weekend, and we had a blast! We all love being in the great outdoors, and the kids did great. It was a quick trip, but we managed to cram all sorts of fun things into it. We got up there around dinner time, and the kids had a hayday playing in the tent while Neil and I were getting things ready. Zachary was super excited to roast marshmallows, but he preferred to eat them cold. The next morning we had breakfast and broke camp, then went up to the lake right by the campground and met my dad who brought 4-wheelers, kayaks, and a canoe! The lake was gorgeous, and everyone had a great time. We'll definitely have to do it again in years to come!!

Cheetos for dinner...yum!

Zachary wanted to be just like Daddy

Hey, I was there too!!

The kids were trying to feed me donuts from the back of the truck

Trying out the kayak

Give Daphne rocks and water and she's happy as can be!

I got to try out the kayak, and it was a lot harder than I expected! It was fun, though :)

Bridal Veil Falls

My friend and I took our kids to Bridal Veil falls while our husbands were both down in Zions doing some canyoneering. We had a picnic lunch and then had some fun playing in the water. The water was Freezing, but Zachary didn't seem to mind. It wasn't what you would call a relaxing outing, since there were 5 kids ages 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 and only 2 adults, but it was still fun :)

Wow, that's cold Mom!

This stroller is one of the best purchases I have ever made!

Swim lessons and boating

Two weeks ago, Neil had a week-long business trip, so the kids and I headed up to spend some time with my family. I signed Zachary up for swim lessons while we were up there, and he loved them!! My kids are both water babies, so he did really well. They taught him basic things like how to be comfortable on your back and tummy with support, how to put your face in the water and blow bubbles, etc. His favorite thing to show everyone was how to do a Starfish so you can float on your back. I didn't get great pictures, but you get the general idea....

That weekend, we went boating with my Mom and Greg. Greg has been trying for 3 years to take me waterskiing, and each time something goes wrong with the boat. He was bound and determined this time, and I did get one good ski in before the boat started doing funny things. :) We still had a great time though!!

Family Pictures

At the beginning of August, my family got together to take some family pictures. The pictures I have currently hanging on my wall are from our wedding, so we're in desperate need of some new ones. The ones we took turned out pretty good, although not amazing....but I think I'm going to print them out and hang them up anyway because at least most everyone is in them! The pictures aren't in any sort of order, but so be it...

My mom was trying to get a picture with Daphne, but it wasn't working...
