Happy St Patrick's Day!

I love holidays, and for some reason I've always liked dressing in green for St Patrick's Day. I didn't get any pictures of us in our green, although I did end up randomly choosing green for our family photos that we took last weekend, which I'll post when we get them. I wanted to have fun with dinner, though, so I made our pancakes green. Neil gave me a hard time about it, but I thought it was festive!

Zachary is 3!

I can't believe how much this little boy has grown up!! I'm very relieved that the terrible twos are over, and I can tell a big difference in how he's been acting in the last little while. He seems to be a happier kid, I can reason with him better, and he's not quite as destructive as he used to be (although still a whirlwind of energy!) I think the only thing I don't like about 3 so far is the "why" phase. He asks why whenever I say anything, and it has definitely tested my patience. He loves to be read to, and he still loves motorized vehicles of any kind. I can't get him to eat much of anything (except pasta, which he eats more than I do), which is partially why he's only in the 5th percentile for his weight, but he's pretty healthy, so I guess that's all that really matters! We definitely love our energy-filled, fun-loving little boy!!!

I love this one!

Doesn't he just look all grown-up?

ummmm....

A big birthday party

Since the kids' birthdays are only a week apart, we decided to have a big party for them at our house. I was hoping to have the party outside since our house isn't all that big, but you never know what the weather is going to do in March. To my surprise and delight, the weather was absolutely beautiful!!!

The day started out with the making of the butterfly cake

It turned out really cute!

Daphne and Kenzie in their birthday crowns

Zachary got a cool r/c jeep from grandma and grandpa Neilsen

Daphne didn't quite understand the unwrapping bit, but she still had fun

I didn't manage to get a picture of the actual present, but grandma and grandpa Johnson got Zachary a cute robot

Daphne got a truck from grandma and grandpa Nielsen, and she loves pushing it around the house!

This wagon was a gift to both kids from grandma and grandpa Kerr

We've already gotten much use out of it!!

Waiting to blow out their candles

and dig in!

Daphne LOVED her chocolate cupcake

And Zachary enjoyed his ice cream....in the wagon, of course!!!

I look stoned, but it's the only picture I have with me in it
Happy Birthday to two wonderful little kids!!

Daphne is ONE!!!!

My little baby turned one today!!! We've had a lot of hype leading up to this month, mostly because Zachary's birthday is next week, and we sure lived up to it today :) We started the morning by opening some presents. Daphne got to open some presents from Grandma and Grandpa Johnson, and she loved them. Of course, Zachary had to help her, but she was okay with that.

We let Zachary open one too because he was feeling left out

Next we blew up some balloons

Zachary had a great time throwing them down the stairs

After that I tried to do a photo shoot. It didn't work as well as I hoped, but I still got some cute ones

Daphne LOVES listening to music

Here is my princess in her birthday crown

There are all sorts of ways to wear it such as bandit syle...

...and gansta style! Happy Birthday Sweetheart, we love you!!!
