Playing in the Rain!

This spring and summer have been super dry.  I have loved the warm days, but we have had so many fires as a result, and we all started praying for rain.  Finally, the second week of July, it rained!!!!  It poured pretty good for a while, but in the afternoon it let up a little and the kids and I got to go play in it.  We had a blast, and we're so grateful for the rain :)

Hiking to Stewart Falls

We camped in a campground right next to the trailhead to Stewart Falls, so we decided to go hiking the next morning.  I remembered it being a fairly easy hike, so we got all ready to go.  A few hundred yards up the trail, the Caffees decided that Charsi was never going to make it, and they turned back.  We kept going, and the kids were absolute troopers!  They both walked the whole way, even though it ended up being quite a bit longer than I remembered.  We ate lunch at the waterfall, let the kids play in the water for a bit, and then headed back.  Again, the kids did great, but at the end Daphne started falling asleep while walking!  I carried her the rest of the way, and they both completely crashed in the car.  The whole thing took us about 4 hours, but we had a great time!

By the time we were done, we were all Filthy!!  Every one of us was covered head to toe with dirt, and the shower afterward felt sooooo good :)

Camping!

One of my favorite things about summertime is that we get to go camping!!!  We decided to go over my birthday this year, and invited our good friends the Caffees.  With all the fires this year, we weren't sure if it was going to work out, if we could have a campfire, etc, but everything turned out great and we had a blast!  The kids love camping as well, and they all did awesome.
