Leap Day Predictions

Happy leap day everyone!  I got this idea from my sister-in-law's blog, and I thought it would be fun to do.  Every 4 years, she makes predictions about what she thinks life will bring in the next 4 years.  I don't know if I'll remember in 4 years that I did this, but here goes:

4 years ago I was about 2 weeks away from having my first child, Zachary.  Neil was finishing up a Master's degree at BYU and we were living in a little house in Provo.  Life was good, and I was super excited to be a mother (and to not be pregnant anymore!!)

Today we have a house in Orem, Utah.  Neil works for Lockheed Martin (who just recently bought out Procerus) and I stay at home with Zachary and Daphne.  Up until now, life has basically played out as we thought it would.  I'm learning that I'm not as patient with my kids as I thought I would be, but I love them very much and I'm working on it.  ;)  I teach aerobics at my church building 3 times a week, which I love, and I'm currently serving as the Young Women Secretary.  Neil is finishing up 3 years of being Elders Quorum President, and basically life is good.  We have been so blessed, and I'm truly grateful for the hand of the Lord in my life.

4 years from now, we could be anywhere!  We have dreams of building a house in a few years, but we're not sure where we will do that.  Neil has incentive to stay at his job for 3 years, but after that, who knows?  Every winter I want to move to Texas, Arizona, Florida (someplace warm) but I don't know that that will really happen.  So I predict that we'll still be living in Utah, have one or possibly two more kids, and that Neil will still be working at the same job because he really does like it.  I am loving learning about photography at the moment, so hopefully in 4 years I'll have a lot more experience and my own studio (which we plan to have in the house that we build).  I plan to be more happily married than ever, and just loving life with all that it brings!

Houston, Part 1

Last week we were able to take a trip down to Houston.  It was fairly spontaneous, because we decided to fly down and visit Neil's parents before Daphne turned two and we had to pay for her plane ticket.  While we were there, we drove to San Antonio to visit my brother and his family, and we had a great time!!  The first day was pretty laid back, and the second day we went to the zoo in the pouring rain.  :)  A lot of the animals were inside, but we still managed to have a fun time!

The kids loved playing at the park.  We've definitely missed playing outside!!

These two had a great time together!

Cousin love!

At the Alamo!  We didn't get to take a tour since it was night, but it was really cool all lit up.

After the Alamo we went for a walk on the riverwalk.

Daphne wanted to hold Sophie's hand the whole time :)

Since it was raining when we went to the zoo, we did a lot of inside exhibits.  This was the kids' favorite.

Zachary played with his umbrella all day

Eating a snack while we waited for the rain to let up a little (which it didn't do)

I was trying to show the torrential rain, but instead just got a good picture of Neil.

Hide-and-seek from the camera

What good is the rain if you can't run in it?

Looking at the bears, which were one of the only animals actually out....

We love Daddy!

Yep, I was there too...

"Mom, the hippo Pooped!!!"  (it was actually quite disgusting)

so cute!
