Kids Birthday Party

For now, I really like having the kids' birthdays so close together.  I can still do one party, which means half the work!  I'm sure that won't always be the case, but I'm going to take advantage of it while I can.  We kind of had a birthday week this year, and they ended up opening presents every day or two (which they absolutely loved!)  We had a party for them on Sunday, and the weather cooperated so that we could do it outside even though it was a little chilly.  The kids loved all their presents, so from them I say "thank you, thank you, thank you!"

We went to my mom's on Daphne's birthday, so both kids got to open their presents from her that day.

Daphne loves trains!

And Zachary loves pulling faces, apparently

Thanks, grandma and grandpa Nielsen!

Their cousin's birthday is 2 days after Daphne's, so we got to have another party.  These are just random shots I took of them

We got Zachary a light-saber, which he has to take with him everywhere

Kung Fu Panda 2, which he watches at least once a day

Daphne got lots of puzzles, and insisted on doing them as soon as they were opened.

Wow, LOTS of darts!!

Both kids got a scooter from Grandma and Grandpa Kerr.  Zachary loves his, and Daphne is still learning how to do it ;)

Books are Daphne's other favorite thing

Neil just got angry birds on his phone, and Zachary loves playing it.  When I saw this cake, I knew it would be perfect!

Trying to get the candles to stay lit in the wind....

but we ended up moving inside.  Happy Birthday Kids!

Photo Shoot!

I try to do a photo shoot for the kids' birthday each year.  The kids were all dressed up for church and we still had some time, so I figured that was the perfect opportunity!  I got some great shots (especially of Daphne)!  I wanted to go outside and do some a few days later, but of course Zachary fell off his friend's bike and has a huge scrape on his face now.  This just proves that I can't schedule photo shoots for later, I just have to seize the moment!!

This one is going on my wall!  What a personality

Showing off the cute dress she got from Grandma Nielsen

Zachary got this transformer for his birthday, and had to have a picture with it

I was teasing him, so he kept trying to do a grumpy face

These black and white ones turned out really cute!

I sure do love my kiddos!!!

Houston, Part 2

I realize it's been a month since our Houston vacation, but I'm finally getting around to blogging about the second half!  After spending 2 days in San Antonio, we drove back to Houston to spend some time with Neil's parents, and his sister drove down with her family as well.  We haven't seen any of them in a long time, and it was a great weekend!!  We went to the mall, played at the park, went to Chuck-e-Cheese, and mostly just had fun hanging out.  Thanks for the great time everyone!

Uncle Neil wrestling with the boys

He found a bulldozer, he's happy!!

soooo excited to be at the park!

3 little monkeys

cute little Andrew

There was a train that went around the mall, and Zachary BEGGED to ride it

whack-a-mole at chuck-e-cheese

These pictures are a little out of order.  This was dinner the night we flew into town.

Daphne took right to her Grammy!

Yep, that's my husband ;)

These were hamster balls they had in the mall.  They were on the water, and the kids had a few minutes to run around inside them.  They loved it!

And of course, we found a carousel.....

Jacob is a year older than Zachary and they really hit it off together

Andrew did NOT like the carousel!
