18 Months!!!

I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up!! He turned 18 months a week or so ago, and he's turning into such a handsome little boy. He is VERY active (I don't think he's capable of holding still unless sleeping) and he's fascinated by everything around him. His favorite things right now are trucks, boats, motorcycles, cars, and lawn mowers. Is anyone else sensing a theme? We watch the first 30 minutes of Cars every day, sometimes more than once, but then he gets bored and wants to do something else. Neil and I counted that he can say more than 30 words, and that's increasing quickly. He's a handful because he won't really play by himself, but we love him!!

St. George

Over Labor Day weekend, we headed down to St George with my Dad and Karen. It was a fun-filled weekend where we got to go to a play, on a bike ride, and just hang out. It was nice to get away for a little while, and I actually started feeling better, which was an added bonus. :) Here are some pics from Tuachan:

On Sunday we went for a bike ride. It was supposed to be a fun, easy family ride, but it turned out to be a lot steeper than most of us expected. We didn't end up going very far, but it was fun anyway.

My dad took Zachary to a sand dune after we were done, and they had a lot of fun.

Thanks for the great weekend!!

At the Lake

The first weeks of August we had a family reunion at Jordanelle, up by Park City. It turned out to be a freezing cold weekend, so my family decided to go boating again a few weeks later. This time we went up to Mantua, which is a small lake up Logan canyon, and it was a very hot day, so the water felt really nice. It was a fun day just hanging out and playing with the water toys (when they were working). Thanks Mom and Greg!

This jetski wasn't working, so Travis and Chaselyn took turns giving Zachary a ride on the "boat"

Zachary fell asleep during a jetski ride!

Greg was like this for quite a while fixing the boat :)

Lagoon

Now that I have my camera back and I'm starting to feel better (knock on wood), I figured it was time to update the blog on all of our summer happenings. In July, Zachary and I went to Lagoon with my mom, Greg, and kids. Neil had to work, so he couldn't come, but we had a great day. First we went to Lagoon-A-Beach because it was sooooo hot outside! Zachary loves the water, and he found one kiddie slide that he wanted to do over and over again. :)

Eating starbursts--yum!

This is the slide he loved. I think it was because of the shock he got while going under the cold waterfall!

After the waterpark, we went into the main park. I actually didn't do much, partly because I wasn't feeling good (thanks to the pregnancy that I hadn't told anyone about yet) and partly because I was watching Zachary on the kiddie rides. His favorite ride was the cars, but he liked quite a few of the others as well.

He chose the dog to ride on

Um, I'm not too sure about this...

You can only see the top of Zachary's head in this one, but I'm told he liked it....

And the cars he wanted to do over and over!

Despite the fact that he isn't smiling in any of these pictures, he really did have a fun time. Well, that is until we were waiting in line for the train and he fell and hit his mouth and started bleeding all over the place! It took quite a while for the bleeding to stop, and it's a good thing that it happened at the end of the evening because he wasn't very happy after that, poor thing....
All in all, though, he was a trooper, and it was a great day!

Ice cream that's practically free!!!

So I heard about this great deal on Dreyer's ice cream from my sister-in-law Cami's blog. You can get 5 buckets (1.5 quarts) of Dreyer's ice cream for only $2.50 total! Here's the instructions on how to do it:

You want to do this because ice cream is good. And so is Target. You know you were going there this week anyway. Don't lie.

Dreyer's Ice Cream is on sale for $2.50 this week. Not a great bargain.

But then, print off 5 Target $1 Dreyer's coupons----find them here. You have to scroll down a little, find where it says "Edy's or Dreyer's Ice Cream" and type in the number 5 in the little box next to it. Scroll down to the bottom and click on "Get Coupons." The coupons will appear in a new window and print them out!

Now the ice cream is $1.50. Not too shabby.

But here's the best part. When you buy 5 at Target this week-you get a $5 Target gift card!!! Essentially making each 1.5 qt (normal size-not wussy Haagan Daas size) only 50 cents!! Take that diet!!

So hurry out and get your ice cream before the week and this awesome deal ends!

HELP!!!!

I'm writing this post not to report on anything (I'll do that when I get my camera back this week) but to beg for help and advice. Zachary has suddenly started waking up between 4 and 6 every morning, and it is absolutely killing me! Sometimes he'll go back to sleep and sometimes he won't, but either way it is very difficult for me to get back to sleep. I'm still feeling sick, especially in the mornings, and it's awful to start feeling that way so early. The problem is, I have no idea what to do to get him to stop waking up. We've tried keeping him up later, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. This morning I tried just letting him cry, hoping that he'd realize we weren't coming in and go back to sleep, but it's really hard to do that so early in the morning! I don't know what else to try, other than maybe sticking him in the basement where we can't hear him, so if anybody has any ideas, please let me know!!!
